Presto on Azure

Presto is an open source SQL query engine designed for scalability and by Facebook. It performs high speed petabyte-scale data warehouse querying. Presto accesses databases without requiring data migration. It is compatible with Apache Cassandra and Hive, Hadoop, MySQL, Kafka and various relational databases. A similar interface to other database management systems (DBMS), Presto architecture uses parallel processing with a single query to simultaneously access multiple databases. Presto is highly scalable with cloud provisioning. Azure App Hosting Service hosts web app, REST application programming interface (API), and mobile back-end environments while managing app infrastructure.

Presto achieves low latency in high efficiency by using remote procedure calls (RPC) to distribute the online analytical processing (OLAP) workload. Big data is generated and processed in parallel with a distributed, MapReduce-like approach. Presto is used alongside Hadoop and HDFS for large volumes of data. Queries are run from the command line interface (CLI).

Presto features extendible plugins and connectors. Extensions support various programming languages, including Ruby, R, Python, PHP, Node.js, Go, Java, and C. The Prestogres gateway server runs SQL queries on database management systems (DBMS) like PostgreSQL through an open database connectivity (ODBC) interface. Compatible graphical user interfaces (GUI) and clients include Redash, Quix, Shib, and Apache Superset. The Presto Admin tool simplifies management and installation across clusters. Admins configure each cluster, start servers, and gather information from the UI.

Azure App Service quickly creates and deploys scalable mission critical applications so you can grow your enterprise with peace of mind. It is a Managed Service Provider (MSP) for web, mobile, and integration environments. Choose to scale up or out with the Umbraco Accelerator. It is updated from .NET Framework to .NET Core and runs 100% on ASP.NET Core. Configured to restart and ready to launch out of the box.

Ntegral certified images are always up-to-date, secure, and built to work right out of the box.

Ntegral packages applications following industry standards, and continuously monitors all components and libraries for vulnerabilities and application updates. When any security threat or update is identified, Ntegral automatically repackages the applications and pushes the latest versions to the cloud marketplaces.
